CHAPTER ELEVEN
GRAVV STRUGGLED TO hold on to his flagging energy. He tried to limit how much energy passed into the spellstrands, but his efforts accomplished little.
Once he finished giving the female her instructions, he withdrew, splitting his Apex from hers to sever their contact. Without a moment’s hesitation, he dug deep into his Apex and pulled forth as much power as he dared to craft their joint spell.
He wasn’t at all certain it would work, but they had to try.
Struggling to maintain his patience, Gravv gathered his power and waited for the female to begin.
Nothing happened, though. Her inert form did not stir, and not a hint of power moved within her.
Did I misjudge? he wondered. Maybe she isn’t truly capable of affecting anything outside her mental prison.
